The work in progress, with both text and image, now looks like this:
I can’t be sure, even after all the work I’ve put into the piece, that it will emerge the completely harmonious agreement of word and image it wishes to be.
I’m not sure but I’ll keep trying.
A Note on Tools & Sources: I started my Vaiku project using the powerful open source Gnu Image Manipulation Program (GIMP), and then discovered Affinity Photo, from which I will likely never stray. As for visual material, I wander through the virtual halls of the many online image databases, such as Wikimedia Commons, that offer, to the curiously creative, fascinating items in the public domain.
